Reconciling the Plans

Builders Exchange Magazine is working with the Weltzheimer-Johnson House, a Frank Lloyd Wright Usonian home in Oberlin, on a two-hour  workshop for architects and contractors, with the first one to be held April 3 at 3 pm.

Called Reconciling the Plans, it allows 18 participants to examine at the three sets of plans for the house, representing the original FLW design, the revised FLW design (with pencil lines showing changes during the building) and, finally the "as is" plans.

After an interactive introduction to the clients who built the house, teams of three to four building professionals will work informally together to identify, locate, rationalize or lament the differences between the plans, using their common language and skills of problem-solving.

This is followed group dialogue over refreshments. This would allow the Weltzheimer-Johnson House docents to gain great insight from the observations of these professional groups and activate an new appreciation for the House.

The cost is $25 per participant to cover the costs of food and copying the documents, with payment at the time of arrival at the house. CEU credits will be given. Those interested can call Jennette  at BXM at 440-243-8856 to signup.
